Vegetable Steel

After succesfully completing the bamboo home I helped to build, my friends in Costa Rica have started a bamboo structure construction company called Vegetable Steel. These structrues are built with Guadua Angustofolia, also known in Columbia as Acero Vegetal, which grows on their farm.

Codename Rocks the TLA

Codename opened for Big in Japan and Lotus on Nov 23 at the TLA in Philly. It was totally a family affair and everyone was feeling the love. Codename looked amazing under the lights and sounded even better.

BridgTITs Diary

We are getting the whole fam involved, accidentally wrote fist, haha, but meant first mom now Mandser and Danielle. We are enjoying the fabulous follow up to Rene's zellwigger stellar performance in Bridit Jones' Diary. The only redeeming quality to this flim are her breasters which still doesn't entirely make up for her being an ass clown and a retard.

Playground Love by Air on the Virgin Suicides Sountrack is amazing. Great Into, comes on just slighly too slow, dreamy druggy drippy vocals, floydy horns, simple lyrics you can feel, layered thick and deep, like underwater flight.

Jarhead

""Every war is different. Every war is the same." says the voiceover narration in the closing moments of Jarhead. The same is necessarily true about war movies and war books which this movie was originally and a bestseller at that. I think that this being the personal story of a soldier makes for an easy comparison to All Quiet on the Western Front and Catch22 which it most definitely attempts imitation in terms of it's irreverent humor and irony. So what is different about this movie is not really what but where and let me say that the dessert imagery complete with burning oil fields is pretty cool. Lastly, Jamie Fox is one bad ass negro

I went into the theater knowig absolutely nothing about the film. I didnt know that it was about CBS reporter Edward Murrows's battle against Mcarthieism or that it provided an interesting perspecitve into polotics, the TV industry and the meeting of the two. I didnt know that it was in Black in White or that it was directed by George Clooney.
